Welcome to the Last Tavern!
I’ve been playing Dungeons and Dragons and other pen-and-paper roleplaying games in all their various forms, first as a player for years, then as a Dungeon Master. In the last 20 years, my experiences have run the gamut, from amazingly memorable encounters to screaming fights over rules.
In recent years I started a D&D group in which I was the primary DM. Wanting to make a memorable game for my players, I started doing some research online and found a surprising lack of decent content available. This isn’t a small community, so why aren’t there any good dungeon descriptions, clever puzzles, or compelling story arcs readily available?
Time to remedy that lack.
So what is the Last Tavern? This is a place to find that spark of creativity necessary to forge a unique and captivating experience playing D&D, both for the DM and for the players. In addition, you’ll find tips on being a DM, strategies for storytelling, approaches to resolving rules disputes, and other subjects that everyone trying to run a pen-and-paper game will run into eventually.
D&D is supposed to be engaging, creative, inspiring and, most importantly, fun! Hopefully this site will help you make your D&D experience all the better.
